He began his racing career driving
Wing Modifieds at the tender young age of 16. Due to the
rising cost of the class, he turned to the Hot Stock division in
1992. In July 1994, Darryl joined I.M.C.A. and began
designing his own modified series car. When his first
I.M.C.A. Destroyer Chassis rolled out of the shop and onto the
race track, a new era began for Darryl Campbell Motorsports.
The crew now concentrates on
building and racing cars specifically for the I.M.C.A. sanction.
Destroyer Chassis race cars have begun to gain a reputation for
being well designed, built and has proven to be very competitive
with other chassis that have been around for many years.
With the I.M.C.A. Stock Car class rolling onto the scene,
Destroyer Chassis has recently expanded and moved into a larger
facility to accommodate the rising demand for new cars.
Darryl's "help others"
attitude has given him the opportunity to make his racing dream
become a reality. He is always willing to go the extra mile to
make sure the car that you buy from him is going to work.
When he comes up with a new chassis idea, he takes it upon himself
to be the test dummy and make sure the idea will work before
selling it to someone.
Destroyer Chassis is one step above
other builders when it comes to you buying a race car.
Darryl firmly believes that there should be no difference in what
other builders call a "House Car" and the "Car you
really buy". He states, "Everyone deserves to have
the best car that I can build." House cars are there
just to get you in the door, but it is not the same car you load
on your trailer when you buy it. When you buy a car from him
you get the exact same car that everyone else has, unless you
specifically request something different. Destroyer Chassis
is gaining widespread popularity and respect because of Darryl's
experience and his knowledge. But most importantly because other
drivers believe in his ability to build a great race car and their
ability to drive it!
